Rebecca Lowell arrived on Maui in 1989, from her home in rural northern California. Not long after, with just $78 left, she checked into the Bungalow, an $11-a-night hostel on Vineyard Street, in historic Wailuku, Maui's county seat- and started to paint in her small room in, front of open windows, overlooking the harbor.
After a week she had enough paintings and hitchhiked across the island to Lahaina's weekly art fair.
Today, after years of success in galleries across Maui, she has her own gallery-Rebecca Lowell Fine Art- at the beautiful Maui Tropical Plantation. She offers her original paintings, giclees, prints and photographs- wide ranging work from elegant giclees of backlit plumerias and oils of Maui's best beaches to popular abstract featuring words and wisdom from around the world.
